1. Following their third double-digit comeback win of the season, the Miami Hurricanes moved up in both major college football polls released Sunday.
2. Miami jumped one spot to No. 4 in the Associated Press Top 25, while also rising one spot to No. 4 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
3. The Hurricanes (9-0, 5-0 ACC) are off to their best start in seven years and boast their highest ranking since that 2017 campaign.
4. Miami is one of five FBS teams that remain unbeaten, joined alongside Oregon, BYU, Indiana and Army.
5. next, the Hurricanes travel to play at Georgia Tech on Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon on ESPN.
Here is what we know, or learned, after Saturday's game against DUKE:
- Why the Canes would need, or be proud of, three "double-digit comebacks" is beyond me.
- We are both happy and lucky to be ranked #4. Just be careful here with the top 5.
- It is a GREAT start, now lets stick the finish and the landing, ok?
- I would love to see Miami vs Army or Indiana for the Natty.
- Georgia Tech is in Atlanta, which is technically in Georgia.
I'm wondering when we are going to play 2 good halves. I know the dee won't. Every game there is some kind of bust where there is nobody in the same area code as the WR. Hopefully we'll figure it out at the right time.

Was done in the opener already.
It's like the concern trolls have hit empty on the tank but will still keep plugging away despite having no sting in the attempts anymore.

Georgia QB Carson Beck has bought a Lambo with his NIL money.
Next year's NILs will probably have restrictions on the types of vehicles they can ride in or drive, but not own. If I'm paying a 19 year old millions of dollars to play football. I sure as hell ain't going to want him driving or riding in high powered sports cars. Teens and young adults have far more accidents than any other age group.
Otherwise, I'm making sure that there's an out clause to the effect of if you get in a serious accident that prevents you from playing while you were driving or riding in a prohibited vehicle, the contract is voided, has a minimal payoff or is reduced base on the number of games missed.

Skool - Carson Beck played like doo doo early this past Saturday. I only watched part of the first half

Jack McClinton looks like he's still able to play and put points on the board, someone fix his microphone already.

Just listened to Locked On Canes. I didn't realize, but assuming it's true, players get 4 games, and post season doesn't count, regarding redshirting. Can anyone confirm that games like the conference championship and after wouldn't count? If true, it means Damari Brown could play at any time without burning a season, and same for Emory Williams, for that matter. I haven't heard the status of Jadais Richard, but it looked like ankle or Achilles to me. Given the d backfield issues, sure could use Brown back. Just hoping Frederique and Zaquan P stay healthy.
Truly, as much as I don't trust the D, if the team can win the next 4, the D only would need to find some magic for the equivalent of the football elite 8, which is a good position to
Be in.
Posted by: JCane | November 04, 2024 at 09:07 PM
Richards will be out awhile. Brown could be back against Wake.
I could be wrong but I believe all games count towards eligibility. U get 4 games that u can play and save a year. If you play in more that is considered a year of eligibility. Rules could of been changed for playoffs.
Posted by: Herbieibis | November 05, 2024 at 01:55 AM
Postseason games do NOT count against redshirt eligibility rules. Simple Google search you lazy hood rats.
Posted by: 58 Straight | November 05, 2024 at 10:08 AM
Well if UM gets that effort from the post out offensively each night, there is no ceiling this season. They still need rim defense in the rotation getting regular post minutes from somewhere on the roster and I'm not sure how bigger teams at guard will be able to handle two combo guards at the 1 and 2 defensively so that could be a struggle point this season, but if they found a nugget of recruiting trail gold in #99 Ugochiukwu who is going to provide a Bruce Brown off the bench impersonation, they have enough size there in the rotation to manage the minutes correctly enough to win a lot of the games on the schedule this year.
I'm perfectly alright with building the season around feeding a post player from Gainesville as far as it will take the spot up shooters around him though, if that's the type of game he's going to provide each night, more than ever before. Your mileage on that proposition may vary on the blob regarding the same however, so it may not be for everybody's tastes.

Soupster Coming Off The Top Rope on ya lol 😆 😂 🤣! Go Canes!

I resent being called a lazy hood rat. Now, lazy rat bustard? That would make more sense!
The D really needs Damari Brown healthy and in football shape sooner than later, especially if facing SMU and beyond. I'd love to see Emory Williams get some play going forward now that he is locked in for his redshift.
First championship series projections have UM at 4, but obviously then a 3 seed, assuming a conference championship. Given that assumption, they have SMU at 13, first team out. If I'm Mario, the team should at least pretend they have no knowledge of any of this. 1-0 this week.
Anyone know if Haynes King is likely to play for GT? Different ballgame in play without him.
Posted by: JCane | November 05, 2024 at 07:32 PM
Bastard....I'm no bustard
Posted by: JCane | November 05, 2024 at 07:33 PM
Says here, for entertainment purposes only as always:
Miami -7 halftime points and -13 total points for the game.
Under 62 1/2 total points.
King for GT is being said by their coach to be a, "game time decision," which means if he plays, his arm will be banged up anyway. I would expect him to miss the game more likely than he is to start it but that's just my guess.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | November 06, 2024 at 11:15 AM
Won't surprise me a bit if Haynes King plays and plays like Mahomes. Every other team/player seems to do that against us this year.

Let's Beat GT on Saturday and get to 10-0! Go Canes!

Miami is in the 4 slot in the first College Football Playoff poll.
Go ‘canes!

Chad Bishop
@MrChadBishop
Brent Key says today quarterback Haynes King and linebacker Kyle Efford will be two of the four captains Saturday when Georgia Tech faces No. 4 Miami
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | November 07, 2024 at 03:04 PM
Without King, I think the U would have been favored by at least an extra 5-7 pts. Vegas knew he was playing.
Sounds like FU is planning on staying with Napier.

OGV...I got UM -11 vs GT.
Posted by: 58 Straight | November 08, 2024 at 01:01 PM
I am sorry Richard is out.....he is a good player he was coming on well.....we are so so in the secondary....we get tired on DL LBs and DBs....its common...but we start grabbing instead of sliding that head, putting that shoulder in the gut and wrapping up. These guys should know that....no grabbing wrap them up...I love big hits...but I would rather have wrap up tackles.
line 11.5...hmmmmm.....depends on which team shows up. I just want a solid game strong win!
We are 4th due to a very manageable schedule....nobody really good....I think we could beat Clemson by outscoring them....their run game might kill us.
I still take it.....we have had a good year against average competition....but best year since 2003....Cam is a leader and has done well....we will miss him next year!

Can’t wait for the game tomorrow. Need some good Canes news and a huge win. Never liked those Yellow Jackets ,even when I win school.
Recovering at home from my colon cancer surgery. Even 2 of the lymph nodes were malignant. Don’t know if chemo is needed yet.
I will feel better if our Canes win tomorrow .
Thanks for all of your support and prayers. When you are 76 things are rougher.
What is the line for tomorrow? Anyone been to that stadium? I hope many of you will make the trip.
GO CANES

Go Canes! Dominate from start to finish!’
Posted by: AeroCane | November 09, 2024 at 10:48 AM
Thats the start I am looking for....65 yard run everyone grabbing....tired of shootouts we need to win strong!
4 plays TD....really.....we have not come to play we are looking at those clippings and playing poorly...not a good start!
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 12:13 PM
Did u bat your eyes. Same story different week, gutted right off the bat. Need DT's bad that are bigger than what we have. We do have them but their freshmen.
Posted by: Herbieibis | November 09, 2024 at 12:15 PM
GO CANES. Oops! Not a good start 7-0 right off the bat. Going to be a tough one .
Feeling pretty good today . Took out 48 lymph nodes and 2 are malignant. We shall see how it goes.🩷
Yeah we tied it up!🆙

2 plays and a TD...Arroyo is incredible...CW out of this world....he goes over the edge here and there but he is pretty incredible. We are sunk, unranked irrelevant without him for sure.
It is a bit unfair....to put the burden on CW every freaking week. It is too much for 1 guy. The D is pretty soft, and while we may get to the 12, we play a GA OSU Oregon Bama LSU....look at first 10, then A & M SMU....our O can score our D lets the others score....and a really good D will stop us, and the O will slow down...you lose those games.
The D is the Achilles heel....seems we never get all 3 phases on same page....ST has been excellent O really productive a bit risky here and there by CW but thats part of his dynamic ability...D is lacking in all 3 levels...we are getting less pass rush, LBs out of position, DBs a disaster...thats how you lose games!
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 12:29 PM
I'm gonna say it now CW1 is best QB to play at UM....the guy is so cool so calm...gets that play and is ready....no running around getting set....he has it ready to go...Arroyo was wide open again easy TD. CW1 makes it look so easy...like they said...its like backyard barnyard for him...we never had anybody like him!
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 12:34 PM
We the D to wake the hell up! The D is definitely our Achilles heel!
Posted by: YooperCane | November 09, 2024 at 12:39 PM
Our D line is too small Herbie that's your expertise area...getting handled rather easily at times just not up for playing 60 minutes in the trenches and I do not see enough pressure...and I do not like our blitzing as we really get out of position and big plays happen.
did not contain on that....D line out of wack no pressure QB makes it look easy. they are 4 for 4 on 3rd...not good...unacceptable.
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 12:50 PM
Wow - Guidry and this defense sucks! It’s almost unbearable to watch them - Barron and Bain have DEGRESSED! At this point in the season, both are Overrated
Posted by: AeroCane | November 09, 2024 at 12:51 PM
Mario gotta think about keeping Lance as a D coach, he stinks so far. We just don’t have the D to play a complete game. Once Cam is gone, we won’t have a QB to bail us out like Cam had done. If we had a decent D we wouldn’t be in these bad situations all game long.
Posted by: YooperCane | November 09, 2024 at 12:55 PM
Get Tyler Baron out.
Posted by: Herbieibis | November 09, 2024 at 12:55 PM
I must agree...to win it all you have to have all 3 O, D, ST...not perfect but they have to make a difference The D is just weak...they have had the ball 8 minutes...slow pace they like it... poor tackling...no contain LBs not sliding....just bad D.
Mario talking to reporter....no fire in him....he's tubby and old too many Miami restaurants ....I like the guy who took his place at Oregon....Lanning....that guy lives to win hates losing... Mario is content....he thinks good season ho hum....yawn...hmmmm...
They drive it 10 minutes and we cannot tackle...not good
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 12:58 PM
Damn it! This frickin D is killing me. We just can’t defend anything
Posted by: YooperCane | November 09, 2024 at 01:01 PM
We are in trouble. Not looking good. What say you?
Posted by: MLALUMNI 1970 | November 09, 2024 at 01:04 PM
Can you say holding... cmon...cannot call D holding....but O holding...not good. We are not right CW1 is off....way off...missed Arroyo wide open last series...poor pass to Restrepo who was open...last one was off as well...hmmmm
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 01:08 PM
Can’t believe, we didn’t get a penalty on GT, grabbing his shoulder and jersey all the way down! Big time missed call by the officials.
Posted by: YooperCane | November 09, 2024 at 01:12 PM
They missed that one big time.
I am not sure who is a fundamental coach, but we either grab with arms and miss or lead with helmet.
You keep head up ass down drive through wrap up....you tend to stop people that way, not get called for potential targeting, and you and ball carrier live to play another play. I like good hits but I do not want people to ever get hurt...they are still kids to me...keep em safe!!!!
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 01:16 PM
Nobody in the top 10 has a dee this bad. Game after game we get busted for big plays. We have enough talent to not be this bad. I like Guidry but something ain't right.
Posted by: Herbieibis | November 09, 2024 at 01:17 PM
Well when you get to that 12...you better have a D that can pressure contain cover and tackle....if not you get beat.
What is the Mark Whipple bubble screens? I do not like those calls...2 of them....just not an effective play...hell I'd rather run the ball 2x that throw those passes
I don't know...close game QB off...their place...GT playing pretty good ....D tired 2 minutes to go...take the points the 3 that you know he will make!
tight one folks...and our sideline is quiet...you can coach during game....O is not together...I'm QB I get 11 or so together calm em down get on same page lets go win now!
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 01:27 PM
What’s the trouble with the Canes?? Enlighten me please.
Posted by: MLALUMNI 1970 | November 09, 2024 at 01:30 PM
Holding our first penalty....good discipline on the penalties, bad time for first one!
I just do not see the fire...and CW1 is just not on....his accuracy and touch after the TD is just not there today...got to keep at it!
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 01:36 PM
Another screen....hmmmm...it just puts you in that 3rd and long....harder conversion.......nice play by their safety that's how its done.
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2024 at 01:40 PM
I’m just gonna say it: Sam brown has been a huge disappointment this year! Sometimes he runs the wrong pattern; sometimes he doesn’t give 100% effort; etc
Posted by: AeroCane | November 09, 2024 at 01:43 PM
Would have liked to see a field goal attempt right before the two minute TV time out to try and put points on the board on the road. That way they could try and get the ball back using timeouts to try another right before halftime drive before getting the ball back to open the second half, missed opportunity.
Concern trolls going to concern troll now that basketball season has begun. Heisman favorite will have to conjure up some magic.

The D is awesome! Go Canes
Posted by: YooperCane | November 09, 2024 at 01:45 PM
Dropped balls by the O, shitty defense, it doesn’t get better than this! If we can’t can’t figure their shit out at the half, we toast.
Posted by: YooperCane | November 09, 2024 at 01:46 PM
C’mon Mario! You can’t keep playing like this and compete for a Natty, it just ain’t gonna work.
Posted by: YooperCane | November 09, 2024 at 01:48 PM
For sure OGV....when you are rolling go for it....tight game away QB struggling D really poor....take the 3 from Andres Bo.....he's 16 of 17 so far....reliable and deadly
They have 20 yds passing...190 rushing....you got to D up... the run D starts up front but especially LBs...head up ready.....if they are not passing much, you can push pocket back but you got to stay in lanes when they try to pass...but they cannot so don't let QB run...backs are quick so you got to be ready and tackle when they do run...
Alignment Assignment Execution Fundamentals...it works...follow it.
We did only have 1 penalty so that's not an issue.
